Definition: short tandem reiterated nucleotide sequences, usually (CA)13 (CA)20, also known as short tandem repeat polymorphisms (STRP) or simple sequence tandem repeats (SSTR) that are flanked by unique sequence PCR primers (usually twenty mers in length)
