The mission of the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation, Inc. (CHF) is to advance the health of all dogs and their owners by funding sound scientific research and supporting the dissemination of health information to prevent, treat, and cure canine disease. The Foundation has established a series of goals as well as a strategy for achieving these goals.
The AKC Canine Health Foundation grant process is unique because we gather information about canine health priorities from a variety of sources. Additionally, the grants review process is rigorous and stringent.

The AKC Canine Health Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The staff carries out the objectives set by the Board, and the Grants Committee assists in reviewing and recommending research projects for approval.
