Canine Health Discovery of the Year Award
The award celebrates a significant research advancement that transforms the health and well-being of all dogs.
Eligibility
- The research must represent a substantial discovery or advancement that addresses a critical need or challenge in canine health; studies that have made remarkable contributions to any aspect of canine medicine.
- Examples: the development of new diagnostic tools, therapeutic interventions, preventive measures, or a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying canine diseases.
Nomination Process
Nominations will be open annually January 1st to April 30th. Please nominate a discovery using the online form requiring:
- Description of the discovery
- Description of the discovery's impact with supporting evidence and references
- A "why it should win" summary
Selection Process
The winner of the Canine Health Discovery of the Year award is selected by a distinguished panel of invited experts comprised of veterinarians, researchers, and leaders in the field of cnaine health. The selection committee reviews all eligible research based on criteria, which include scientific rigor, original thought, practical application, and potential to advance the field of canine medicine and have a sustainable impact on the lives of dogs.
The winner will be announced at the Foundation's annual gala, Canines & Cocktails, in Orlando, Florida.

Participate in canine health research by providing samples or by enrolling in a clinical trial. Samples are needed from healthy dogs and dogs affected by specific diseases.
