Rhonda Hovan serves on the Board of Directors of the AKC Canine Health Foundation and its Scientific Review Committee.

Ms. Hovan has been a breeder, owner and handler of Golden Retrievers under the "Faera" prefix for over forty years, producing more than 60 Champions. As a health and genetics writer, she has won the Veterinary Information Network Health Education Award and the Eukanuba Canine Health Award. Rhonda is the Research Facilitator for the Golden Retriever Club of America, founded the Starlight Fund at the AKC Canine Health Foundation to support Golden Retriever health research, and is an Emeritus Director of the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Rhonda has been a tireless champion of canine health and most importantly, the AKC Canine Health Foundation. She understands the value of canine health research and is one of the driving forces behind the Golden Retriever Club of America's substantial impact on canine health.
