Kelly Balthazor

Kelly Balthazor is the Grants Manager for the AKC Canine Health Foundation.

With more than twenty years’ experience in philanthropy and grantmaking, Kelly supports the Foundation's grantmaking activities throughout the entire lifecycle of grant awards - from grant proposal announcements, submissions, and reviews, contracting, reporting, and close-out to ensure the reputable delivery of the scientific, programmatic strategy.

With a degree in Hospitality Management from Northern Arizona University, customer service is the backbone of everything Kelly does. She started her career in events and fundraising and moved into corporate social responsibility with roles at US Airways, American Airlines and The Arizona Republic. Previously, Kelly was the Senior Manager of Community Grants at PetSmart Charities where she directed the community grants program to fund veterinary care for under-resourced and marginalized communities and led the emergency response efforts.

An Arizona native, Kelly moved to Raleigh with her husband and three dogs: Lucy, Cooper, and Kona. An avid baker, Kelly is working her way through all the Great British Bakeoff Technical Challenges in her free time.
