Cindy Vogels

Cindy Vogels is Treasurer of the AKC Canine Health Foundation Board of Directors. A native of Rockville Centre, New York, Cindy earned a Bachelor of Music (Flute) from New England Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music History from the University of Colorado.

Her interest in dogs began in high school. She and her mother, Jackie Gottlieb, bred over 100 "Andover" Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier champions and have owned top winners and producers. She has also bred champion Kerry Blue, Norfolk and Welsh Terriers, Brittanys and Greyhounds. Cindy is AKC approved to judge all Sporting, Hound, Terrier and Toy breeds, Best in Show and Junior Showmanship. A busy judge, she has adjudicated at prestigious shows world-wide, including judging Best in Show at Westminster KC and Montgomery County KC. Participation in dog clubs include: former President and AKC Delegate for the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America, Vice President and Show Chairman for Evergreen Colorado Kennel Club. Cindy also serves on the Take The Lead Board of Trustees.

A member of the Board of Directors of the AKC Canine Health Foundation since 2004, Cindy has also served as Chairman.

Long-time Colorado residents, Cindy, husband David, together with their son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, enjoy music, sports, and travel.

Help Future Generations of Dogs

Participate in canine health research by providing samples or by enrolling in a clinical trial. Samples are needed from healthy dogs and dogs affected by specific diseases.
