03565-A: How Sugar Molecules on Dog Antibodies Could Reveal Clues about Lymphoma

Lymphoma is the most common type of blood cancer in dogs, but we still don’t fully understand how the immune system changes during the disease. One part of the immune system that may play a role is the presence of sugars on the antibodies made by the cancer cells. In people, changes in these sugar patterns are linked to more serious forms of lymphoma. We want to find out if the same is true in dogs.

In this study, we’ll look at samples from dogs with lymphoma and compare them to healthy dogs. Using two advanced lab tests, we’ll measure these sugar patterns to see if they could help us better understand, diagnose, or track the disease. This work could help improve how we care for dogs with lymphoma in the future.
