03526-A: Identification of a tumor cell associated protein target and development of a therapeutic nanobody for the treatment of canine B cell lymphoma.

This research focuses on a type of white blood cell cancer in dogs, called B-cell lymphoma, a frequently occurring cancer that affects several lymph nodes throughout the body (becoming swollen and painful) and is currently uncurable. Our goal is to develop a new immunotherapy by finding a druggable target unique to these lymphoma cells and create a nanobody-based agent against the target that also stimulates the dog’s own immune system to successfully attack the cancer cells. By doing so, a much more effective and far less toxic treatment for dogs diagnosed with lymphoma becomes possible, providing them a longer and more active life.
