Founded in 1995 by the American Kennel Club, the AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) has grown into the world's largest nonprofit exclusively funding canine health research. CHF is driven by collaboration, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to helping dogs live longer, healthier lives.
The Legacy and Mission of CHF
Since its founding in 1995, CHF has transformed the landscape of canine health research. With a mission to improve the health of all dogs through knowledge and discovery, CHF has awarded more than $75 million in research grants to over 145 institutions worldwide, driving transformative advancements in areas like heart health, genetics, cancer, epilepsy and the microbiome. These efforts have addressed critical health priorities and provided advancements that promote dogs living healthier, more vibrant lives.
