Small Animal Theriogenology Residency
This residency program provides support to increase the number of veterinary professionals with expertise in theriogenology–the study of reproduction in animals–with a focus on dogs.
Purpose of this Residency Program
This program, a partnership between the American Kennel Club, the AKC Canine Health Foundation, and the Theriogenology Foundation, aims to increase the number of trained specialists in companion animal reproduction and clinical genetics. It focuses on advancing veterinary care in reproductive health, breeding practices, and clinical genetics for small animals. Through hands-on clinical experience, didactic education, and research opportunities, this program prepares residents for American College of Theriogenology board certification.
Who is Eligible
Applicants must be board-certified ACT diplomates affiliated with an accredited ACT residency program. They should be committed to training residents to become proficient clinicians, mentoring research to foster evidence-based medicine, and supporting the board certification process.

Board-certified ACT diplomates at an institution with an accredited program in the specialty.
