This research focuses on idiopathic epilepsy in Irish Wolfhounds, a condition that causes recurrent seizures and greatly affects dogs’ daily lives. Irish Wolfhounds have been reported to be at especially high risk; however, the available information is 20 years old, and no updated data have been published since then. The goal of this study is to better understand how common idiopathic epilepsy is in this breed today, its current clinical characteristics, its impact on dogs and their caregivers, and the factors that influence outcomes. Using an online questionnaire-based survey, this study will update current knowledge of idiopathic epilepsy in Irish Wolfhounds, providing valuable information for veterinarians and owners, and supporting further genetic research, ultimately helping affected dogs and their owners live healthier lives.
