Hormonal Health Research

The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) supports research into diseases of the endocrine system, focusing on genetic causes, stem cell therapies, novel diagnostics, and potential treatments for hormonal disorders.

Why We Focus on Hormonal Health

Hormonal diseases can be life-threatening and may require lifelong management. These include conditions such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, and Addison’s disease. By understanding the causes and mechanisms behind these conditions, we can improve early diagnosis and develop more effective treatments, enhancing the quality of life for affected dogs.
