Presented at the "Gala by the Bay" in Long Beach California, Chairman, Cindy Vogels said, “Each year it is the privilege of the Chairman to select the recipient of the President’s Award. This year I am delighted to honor two individuals who have given generously and selflessly for years.” She continued, “They have contributed, not only monetarily – often anonymously – but have also devoted their energies, intelligence and spirit – helping engage others in our quest. Mrs. Katharine (Kate) Simonds is well-known in the field retriever world, serving as President of the National Amateur Retriever Club, Secretary-Treasurer of the National Amateur Retriever Club, Board Member of the Labrador Retriever Club, AKC Delegate and longtime member and officer of the Colonial Retriever Club. She has been a longtime supporter of CHF and canine health research. Kate’s continued dedication to improving the health of dogs is a testament to the love she shares with her Labrador Retrievers, and her commitment to advancing canine health.
