In 1995, the American Kennel Club (AKC) reaffirmed its commitment to dogs by founding the Canine Health Foundation (CHF) to advance research to benefit the health of dogs. With over $35 million in financial and in-kind support, the AKC is a leading supporter of canine health by demonstrating their commitment to CHF’s mission. Partnership Initiatives
Canine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency
Launched in 2025, this residency program will promote healthy, active dogs, including those participating in performance and companion sport events.
Small Animal Theriogenology Residency
Through this collaboration, 14 veterinarians have attained board-certified in theriogenology, receiving extensive clinical experience in canine reproductive health and advancing expertise in the field.
Canine Breeder Excellence Seminar Tracks
These webinars provide breeders with current information on canine reproduction to support successful breeding programs. Led by expert speakers, often past or current AKC/CHF/TF Small Animal Theriogenology residents, they offer valuable knowledge to enhance breeding programs.
