Dr. Shamoun earned his veterinary degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Georgia. He then completed a small animal internal medicine residency at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he remains as a doctoral candidate in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences.
Dr. Shamoun’s research will explore the pathophysiology of Escherichia coli urinary tract infections, as well as novel diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive modalities. His career goal is to stay in academia to perform both basic science and clinical research and to teach veterinary students, interns, and residents.
