Dr. Margret Casal

Dr. Margret Casal

Dr. Margret Casal attended veterinary school at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. Following veterinary school, she obtained her Masters Degree at the University of Bern in Switzerland for her research in canine vaccines and virology. After working in pathology and research for several years, Dr. Casal went on to working mainly in small but also some large animal reproduction at the University of Zurich for four years, where she developed her interest in pediatrics. To further her knowledge in this field, she elected to pursue advanced specialty training in the area of veterinary medical genetics, pediatrics, and reproduction at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine. After her residency, she remained at the University of Pennsylvania to complete her PhD in the field of virology/pathology/gene therapy and subsequently became assistant professor of Medical Genetics.
