Dr. Adam Birkenheuer received his DVM from the University of Florida and his PhD in Immunology from North Carolina State University (NCSU). A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, his interests are general internal medicine and infectious disease. Currently an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at NCSU, Dr. Birkenheuer's research interests include epidemiology, molecular characterization, molecular diagnosis, and treatment of vector borne diseases in dogs and cats.
