The AKC Canine Health Foundation rigorously tracks the tangible outcomes of our funded research. To date, the AKC Canine Health Foundation has contributed to over 200 peer-reviewed publications in both veterinary journals and journals with broad biomedical community readership. Original projects funded by the AKC Canine Health Foundation are cited or “used” by another investigator to make strides in the area of study more than 1500 times.

Grant Application Process

We award grants to scientists that concern the origins of canine illness, diagnosis of canine diseases, developments of effective treatments and the identification of disease prevention strategies.
Help Future Generations of Dogs
Participate in canine health research by providing samples or by enrolling in a clinical trial. Samples are needed from healthy dogs and dogs affected by specific diseases.
