Golden and Labrador Retrievers with Hip Dysplasia
ACI requests cheek swabs and saliva samples from any Golden or Labrador Retriever that has undergone a THR, TPO, or FHO surgery due to hip dysplasia or any Golden or Labrador Retriever that has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia by medical record. A pre-paid round trip sampling kit will be provided to owners for sampling and would only need to drop it in the mail back to ACI (free of charge). Study is designed to identify gene variants in 2 breeds the contribute risk for severe hip dysplasia.
