Blood Disorders Research Program RFP
The AKC Canine Health Foundation supports basic science discovery and clinical research into the treatment of blood disorders through the Blood Disorders Research Program. This program supports research into the pathophysiology of disease, molecular and genetic basis of disease and identification of potential therapeutic drugs that correct the cellular phenotypes associated with disease. As with all research program areas, Regenerative Medicine research is strongly supported by the Blood Disorders program.
Key canine health problems addressed by this research program include, but are not limited to:
- von Willebrand's Disease
- Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia
- Factor VII Deficiency
- Factor XI Deficiency
- Trapped Neutrophil Syndrome
The AKC Canine Health Foundation is not currently accepting grant applications in this research program area.

Help Future Generations of Dogs
Participate in canine health research by providing samples or by enrolling in a clinical trial. Samples are needed from healthy dogs and dogs affected by specific diseases.
