Application and Submission Information for Collaborative Cancer Grant RFP

Letter of Intent

Prospective applicants are asked to submit a letter of intent (LOI) that includes the following information:

Coverpage (1 page)

    • Brief background and specific aims of research program project
    • Descriptive title of proposed research
    • Name, address, and telephone number of the PI(s)
    • Names of other key personnel
    • Participating institutions

Letter of Intent (4 pages)

    • Significance of the proposed research
    • Innovative aspects of the proposed research
    • Evidence that the project is ready for immediate implementation
    • Preliminary list of the expected 3 year outcomes and deliverables

Biosketch of key personnel (2 pages per person) - View Biosketch Template

Cited Literature (no page limit)

Research Plan

Accepted LOI will be invited to submit a full Research Plan, not to exceed 6 pages per project. Excluded from the overall page limit are the following required items:

  • Program Project Specific Aims (2 pages maximum)
  • Budget
  • Budget Justification. The Budget Justification should include sufficient detail for reviewers to assess whether appropriate resources have been requested.
  • Timeline, milestones, measurable outcomes and deliverables
  • Animal Care and Use and/or Informed Consent forms
  • Program Project Leadership Plan
  • Biosketch of key personnel
  • Consortium/Contractual Arrangements
  • Letters of Support
  • Data and Resource Sharing Plans

Timeline of the Collaborative Cancer RFP

May 15, 2012 - RFP is active
August 1, 2012 - Letter of Intent Due
October 8, 2012 - Invitations to submit full proposals will be mailed
February 11, 2013 - Full Proposals due
May 15, 2013 - Funding decisions announced
