A few words from Phanney's owner...

The importance of Canine Health Research cannot be overstated.  Epilepsy and cancer have no boundaries if it afflicts animals or humans.  The Chagas bug and tick aren't selective in their choice of host yet the resulting disease(s) they carry are devastating for both.

Epilepsy has an ancient history in humans with parallel seizure activity in animals. Without the inquisitive minds of the Veterinary community and willingness to think outside the box we would not have some of the protocols and treatments available today that make a difference in the treatment and care for our canine community.

The results of Canine Health Research grants provide essential information to better understand the health issue/disease ultimately providing direction to an earlier diagnosis and treatment protocol for both canines and potential application for humans.

Thanks to Canine Health Research results the one time experimental treatment for an illness/disease are becoming standard protocol.  And with each study and its results more information becomes available and better protocols ensue.

With the Canine Health Research insight gained Veterinary care has evolved, the average pet owner becomes more knowledgeable and Breeders have valuable information at their fingertips to protect and produce healthier dogs through testing and preventative protocols.

The more we learn, the better informed we become and advances are made that will benefit both canines and human for now and in the future.
