In addition to his duties on the AKC Canine Health Foundation Board of Directors, Dr. William Truesdale serves on the Foundation's Grants Committee. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1972. Prior to establishing a private veterinary practice in 1977, he completed an internship at Angell Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts. His practice, Central Avenue Veterinary Hospital is limited to small animals, however Dr. Truesdale also enjoys the practice of canine reproduction. Dr. Truesdale is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association and the Rhode Island Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Truesdale is an avid Boxer breeder with tremendous emphasis on canine health issues. His boxers, under the kennel name 'Hi-Tech' are prolific producers in the breed. Bill is a founder of the American Boxer Charitable Foundation and is currently serving as President of the Foundation. He is also involved with numerous kennel clubs including the American Boxer Club, the Rhode Island Kennel Club, the Morris & Essex Kennel Club and the Hockamock Kennel Club. Bill and his wife, Tina, currently live in Attleboro, Massachusetts with their many boxer pets.
