Dr. Terry Warren
Terry T. Warren, Ph.D., J.D., is the Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel of the AKC Canine Health Foundation. Dr. Warren's roots are in Maryland, where she received her bachelors degree at the University of Maryland. She traveled to Michigan and continued her education at Michigan State University, receiving a Masters degree and then a PhD in the Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary Program with a major in Psychology. She also earned a law degree at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Dr. Warren has twenty five years of legal experience providing counsel to profit and non-profit organizations, working on complex policy and legal issues dealing with appropriations, grant making, and major fundraising initiatives. She has a broad understanding of the complexities of the tax laws governing charitable organizations and is providing the necessary leadership to aggressively expand the Foundation's resources to support basic and applied research grants for canines. Terry has two grown children and lives in Raleigh, NC with Madison, her very playful Havanese.
